Opening Reception: Friday, November 6, 6-8pm
As the United States marks its 250th anniversary, Gallery C is proud to present A Place To Call Home, an exhibition celebrating one of the most enduring symbols of American life: the home.
From the earliest colonial dwellings to the diverse spaces we inhabit today, the American home has always been more than four walls and a roof. It is a reflection of our values, our struggles, our aspirations, and our ever-evolving sense of identity. It is where family is defined, traditions are passed down, and communities take root.
For this special milestone exhibition, Gallery C has brought together a dynamic mix of artists — including many from the Gallery C family alongside a selection of distinguished guest artists — each invited to create new work that explores what “home” means in America. The result is a rich and varied conversation across painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media, offering perspectives as varied as the nation itself.
A Place To Call Home does not seek a single definition. Instead, it asks: What have we built? What have we lost? What do we dream of? Whether intimate or monumental, nostalgic or urgent, the works in this exhibition remind us that the idea of home lies at the very heart of the American experience.
Join us in celebrating 250 years of a nation — and the countless places its people have called home.
