Gallery C is proud to present this collection of exquisite paintings and sculptures, purchased in Haiti nearly 40 years ago. Norvel and Isabelita Burns’ collection first exhibited in April of 1980 at the Naive Gallery of Folk Art in San Francisco. It features world renown Haitian artists including Ludovic Booz and Jean Rene Jerome, as well as other native talent internationally known outside of Haiti. Booz has work featured in the Nelson Rockefeller Collection as well as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, while Jerome has been exhibited around in the world in countries such as Latin America, Brazil, Canada, the United States,and many more.
Norvel Burns has dedicated this exhibition to his late brother Robert (Bob) Burns, esteemed architect and professor at the NCSU College of Design
